The Nigeria Association of Teachers of Arabic Language and Literature (NATALL) has called on striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government to go back to the discussion table to resolve their differences.

ASUUIn a statement in Abuja yesterday, president of the association Dr. Muhammadu Umaru Ndagi said failure to resolve the crisis in the universities could worsen the situation of the education system.
He said "the collective failure of our leaders to find a solution to the current crisis will only further worsen the already dwindling education system in the country".
Ndagi underscored the imperative of "the federal government to invite ASUU leaders to a roundtable discussion for the amicable resolution of the crisis. On the other hand, we encourage ASUU leadership to consider any genuine proposals advanced by government to bring the crisis to a fruitful end.
"There is a tradition in this country to fault ASUU each time it goes on strike. Yet, no one faults government for refusing to honour agreements reached with labour unions," he said.
