The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited all the 10 academic programmes being run by the Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH), Okitipupa. The disclosure of the good news was made on Wednesday 3rd July, 2013 by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tolu Odugbemi OON, NNOM, FAS during a special meeting of the Senate of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor who expressed delight at the feat, thanked staff and students for their cooperation, diligence, and team work that paved way for the successful accreditation exercise. He stated: "We thank God for team work and divine guidance in OSUSTECH. We started academic programmes at OSUSTECH in January, 2011 and today in less than three years; all the ten programmes we presented have been accredited by the NUC! I thank you all, in particular Council, OSUSTECH Senate, entire staff, students and well-wishers. We also thank the State Governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the State Government and the State Assembly for their support. Our dear students, CONGRATULATIONS AND WE WISH YOU GOODLUCK as you are preparing for the end of session exams ".

Also, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. Funso Akere, FNAL has felicitated with the Vice-Chancellor, Staff and Students on the success recorded in the accreditation exercise. His words: " I heartily congratulate the Vice-Chancellor and the entire staff of OSUSTECH on the fantastic performance in the NUC- accreditation exercise. It is a function of your hardwork and dedication ".
Meanwhile, members of staff and students have reacted positively to the development with gratitude to God and the University Management for a job well done.
It would be recalled that the NUC-Accreditation teams were in the University between 14th February and 8th March 2013 for the accreditation exercise.
The ten courses of the University that received NUC-accreditation include Mathematics (full accreditation), Computer Science (full accreditation), Industrial Chemistry (full accreditation), Geophysics (full accreditation), Physics (full accreditation), Botany (full accreditation), Microbiology (full accreditation), Zoology (full accreditation), Fisheries (full accreditation) and Biochemistry (interim accreditation).
