Australian-American Fulbright Commission offers Senior Scholarships for US Students in Australia. Over 180,000 international students come to Australia to study each year. Applications for 2014 Fulbright Senior Scholarships are open 1 February to 1 August 2013. Number of award (s): The Commission offers five Fulbright Senior Scholarships for U.S. citizens to visit Australia annually.

What does it cover? Senior Scholarships are valued around AUD 35,000 and include:
-Generous travel entitlement
-Monthly stipend for a maximum of 6 months
-Establishment allowances
-Australian Medicare health care coverage
-Transport and accommodation to an Enrichment Program whilst in Australia-
-Professional network of U.S., Australian and international Fulbright Scholars and distinguished Alumni.
Senior Scholars also receive the following allowances for dependents. The dependents must accompany the Scholar for 80% of the Australian visit to be eligible for these allowances.
Selection criteria: Not Known
Notification: Short listed U.S. application forms are sent to Australia. Australia's National Selection Committee makes the final selection and recommendation to the Australian-American Fulbright Commission Board for approval. In March Applicants are notified of the selection outcomes (pending final approval by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board in the United States). Fulbright Scholarships are to be taken-up in the following year after July 1st. The scholarship must be started after July 1st and before June 30th.
